NewsNow Desk: Ekushey Award winning journalist and Jatiya Press Club former president Reazuddin Ahmed has passed away at a hospital in the capital.
Reazuddin Ahmed, also ex-general secretary of undivided Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), died at 1:30pm today (Saturday) while undergoing treatment at the United Hospital in Dhaka.
His body will be taken to Jatiya Press Club premises at 11:30am tomorrow (Sunday) for the last respect.
Reazuddin Ahmed left behind wife, a son, a daughter, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Former editor of the Financial Herald and founder and editor of the News Today, Reazuddin Ahmed was undergoing treatment at ICU of the United Hospital after being infected with Covid-19.
Reazuddin Ahmed was winner of Maulana Akram Kha and Atish Dipankar awards. One of his famous books is Sotter Sondhane Protidin (in pursuit of truth everyday). He was president and general secretary of the undivided DUJ. He was also secretary general and president of BFUJ. He was president of Jatiya Press Club for four terms.
He was member of Dhaka University senate and president of South Asian Free Media Association.
