Newsnow Desk: Lawyers in Patuakhali and Tangail have decided not to attend virtual courts ignoring the instruction of the Supreme Court citing their inefficiency in the technology. Bar associations at the two districts took the decisions in meetings held on Wednesday and Tuesday.
Patuakhali District Bar Association president Obaidul Alam after the meeting said that members of association decided not to join the virtual courts as most of them had no smart phone, lesser internet bandwidth in the district and majority of them had no training on such technology.
The executive committee of Tangail District Bar Association on Tuesday took similar decision on similar grounds. The committee also called for operating courts through any other substitute way to maintain social distancing. The bar association also convened a meeting of its extended committee today.
The association general secretary AKM Nasimul Aktar said that they had decided to send letter to law ministry and other offices concerned regarding their decision. NewAge reports.
